Cardiac Cath Lab Funded by Donors at Sequoia
Mary Lyn and Niles Mosely donated $600,000 to Sequoia Hospital Foundation to help fund Dignity Health Sequoia Hospital’s new Hybrid Cardiac Catheterization (Cath) Lab. This generous gift was the direct result of a physician referral following a training conducted by the foundation to educate physicians on how to recognize a grateful patient’s desire to give and how to work with the philanthropy team to achieve the donor’s intent.
This is the Moseley’s first donation to the hospital and represents a significant investment in the delivery of cardiac care in Sequoia’s Heart and Vascular Institute. The gift was made in honor of cardiologist Edward T. Anderson M.D. who retired in December of 2016 after 40 years at Sequoia.
The Moseleys worked with the foundation to identify a project that would honor Dr. Anderson’s legacy as one of the pioneers of Sequoia’s cardiac program and help continue the work of those who follow in his footsteps. A plaque honoring Dr. Anderson was unveiled at a December reception attended by the Moseleys, Dr. Anderson and his colleagues, hospital and foundation leadership.
